Great Lakes Fossils
This print shows the animals that inhabited the Great Lakes region 450 million years ago during the Ordovician era. At that time, this region of what is now North America was located near the equator and covered by a tropical ocean. Fossils of these animals can be found throughout the Great Lakes region. You can see my collection of Ordovician Fossils here, all of which were found in St. Paul, MN along the Mississippi River.
